Why do I drive rideshare full time?

My name is Russ, and I’ve been a full-time rideshare driver since November 2023. Before this new adventure, I spent 30 years as an IT professional. After a layoff during fall 2023, I found myself drawn to the rideshare world, and I’ve been enjoying the change of scenery ever since—my “office” now comes with constantly changing views.

When I first started driving full-time, I rented vehicles through the Uber driver program and Hertz to get a feel for different cars. After about six months, I decided to buy my own: a 2001 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. I chose this vehicle because it offers both comfort and space, ensuring that everyone—driver and passengers alike—has a pleasant, roomy, and comfortable rideshare experience.
